The Comfy Couch Story

How “The Comfy Couch” came to be, a little backstory.

When I was creating my therapeutic space, I knew I wanted it to feel like more than just an office.

I wanted it to feel safe.

Not just physically comfortable, but emotionally safe—the kind of place where people can exhale, show up as they are, and feel welcomed without judgment.

As I thought about what that feeling meant to me, my mind kept returning to a friendship that held a special place in my life.

We spent countless hours sitting on a couch together, talking about everything and nothing at all. Sometimes our conversations were lighthearted. Other times they wandered into the deeper parts of life—the parts we don’t always share with everyone.

What made those moments meaningful wasn’t the couch itself.

It was the feeling.

The feeling of being accepted.
The feeling of being heard.
The feeling of knowing you didn’t have to carry things alone.

There was something powerful about having a space where it felt safe enough to be fully yourself.

When I began building my practice, I realized that’s exactly what I wanted to offer others.

A space where people could settle in, let their guard down, explore their stories, and feel supported through both the difficult and meaningful moments that come with growth and healing.

And so, The Comfy Couch was born—not from a piece of furniture, but from the experience of connection, trust, and feeling truly seen.

My hope is that when you walk through the door, you feel a little bit of that too.
